TAMARIN AUSTIN
FOUNDER AND CEO
After a dozen years in private practice, litigating on behalf of water purveyors, and an additional decade with the State Water Resources Control Board Office of Chief Counsel, representing the regional water boards, I am pleased to launch Austin Clean Water Advisors, Inc., a professional law corporation designed to support the public and private sectors in their efforts to improve water quality. My experience in the clean water field includes a wide array of water quality issues such as permitting and compliance, policy development, basin planning, site cleanup, and some of the most consequential California water quality cases:

City of Thousand Oaks v. Los Angeles Water Board (NPDES toxicity provisions)
Tamarin and I were colleagues for almost a decade. She is extremely conscientious, a creative thinker, and a staunch advocate for her clients. Her knowledge of permitting, cleanup and compliance issues under the California Water Code and Clean Water Act are unparalleled. She is an asset to any team.
Sophie Froelich, J.D.
Former Colleague
Ms. Austin was exceptional as my legal counsel through a very politically challenging process, and helped achieve my project’s best outcome. She is tough, tenacious, articulate, and extremely well-versed in California and federal water quality laws.
John Robertson, P.G.,
Former Central Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board Executive Officer
I have known Tamarin professionally for 24 years. One of her strongest traits is that she is a good listener: she quickly understands the needs of the project and/or client. Because she has spent over a decade in private practice and over a decade as a regulatory agency lawyer, Tamarin clearly understands and astutely applies California environmental law to her projects. Tamarin is great to work with because she is positive, engaged and relentless.
